It is a great privilege to offer these alternative dispute resolution services in the north western part of Ireland - Counties Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim and Counties Derry, Tyrone and Fermanagh in Northern Ireland.
Having worked in education for many years, I am convinced of the benefits of helping people to manage their conflicts by supporting them in coming to their own resolutions.
As a professional mediator, I do not advise or judge but create a space where parties caught up in stressful conflict can listen to each other and identify what will meet the needs of both sides.
People who have experienced mediation say that:
- it is a respectful process for everyone involved
- both parties gain in a win-win situation
- ongoing relationships between the parties are not damaged and in most cases are greatly improved
- it relieves them of the worry and expense of going to court where there is usually only one winner
